Barthomew Cathedral, constructed in 1847, is illustrative of majestic gothic architectural style. The 700-year-old Kali temple is also greatly revered and has huge historic relevance. It is believed that the wife of Job Charnock used to come here to worship the deity. The famous Tarakeshwar temple is across the Ganges.
